West Virginia will be playing in unfamiliar territory this season after making the move to the Big 12. However even with the change of scenery this team will be a serious contender for the conference crown, due in part to their playmaking wide-receiver Tavon Austin. The Baltimore native has seen his production increase each of the past three seasons. Last season, Austin had the third most touchdowns on the team (8) while also accounting for 1186 yards receiving.
Tavon is also a threat on the special teams as a return man for kickoffs and punts. The senior helped guide his team to victory against South Florida last season with a 90-yard return he took all the way to the HOUSE. And his 14.1 punt return average ranked him among the best nationally (#6). The Mountaineers will rely heavily on their speedster this season. Austin can hurt you in so many different facets of the game and I truly believe he will be the difference maker for the Mountaineers in 2012.
